Coffee for Caregivers Program

When you're fighting for your newborn child's life, small acts of kindness can make all the difference. Claritas Creative Foundation’s Coffee for Caregivers program provides hot coffee, tea and hot chocolate for families of premature and critically ill babies hospitalized in a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) as well as the doctors, nurses, and staff that care for them.

Our foundation board, in collaboration with the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital NICU Parent Advisory Council organized the donation of a coffee and tea machine that parents, family members, NICU doctors, and staff can enjoy during their lengthy shifts in the NICU.

For Every $1.00 Donated, One Cup of Comfort is Provided to a NICU Mom, Dad, Family Member, Doctor, Nurse, or Staff.

About Coffee for Caregivers

Claritas Creative Foundation is proud to continue our Coffee for Caregivers fundraising drive.

This initiative began on October 27, 2017 in honor of our board member, Burt Hudson’s 40th birthday. Burt requested that friends and family donate to the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where Dr. Mohammed K. Abubakar and staff expertly cared for his son Jack after his birth in 2014.

Our foundation board, in collaboration with the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital NICU Parent Advisory Council recommended the donation of a coffee and tea machine that parents, grandparents, friends, NICU doctors, and staff can enjoy during their lengthy shifts in the NICU.

Since 2017, our fundraising drive has funded more than 15,000 of comforting cups of coffee and tea to families and caregivers.

We aim to fund 5,000 more cups of coffee in our 2023 drive. Thank you to our supporters and advocates. We look forward to continuing to support caregivers in 2023 and beyond.
